Cut full, as tweed should be. Measured on the garment, in centimetres — and if the fit is wrong, the first exchange is on us.
Tweed is not a stretch fabric, which is exactly why sizing it is simpler than sizing modern tailored clothing. The measurements below are taken on the garment itself, not on the body it is meant to fit. If you know how a well-fitting jacket of yours measures, match it to the table and you are done.
Measured flat on the garment for the Brown Herringbone three-piece, Cloth No. 001. The same cut runs through the library.

Take the larger. Tweed tailors down — a good alterations tailor can take a jacket in at the side seams cheaply and invisibly — but it does not stretch up. A jacket that closes with a slight strain will never hang correctly; a jacket with half a centimetre of room can be made perfect.
If the fit is wrong, the first exchange is free. Send the garment back unworn within 30 days and the replacement size goes out at no charge, anywhere we ship. We keep a size-exchange reserve built into the price of every garment — you can see it as a line in the cost breakdown — so the policy is funded before the first exchange ever happens. There is no restocking fee and no form-filling theatre.
After the first exchange, returns are accepted within 30 days on unworn garments. A garment that has been worn outdoors cannot come back: tweed takes on the shape and scent of its wearer quickly, and the next customer deserves the same unworn start you had.
Between sizes, take the larger: tweed tailors down, it does not stretch up. If you are still unsure, write to us with your measurements and the cloth number — see the contact page — and we will tell you which size we would put you in, and why.
